Description
Irv Kupcinet was an American newspaper columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, television talk-show host, and radio personality based in Chicago, Illinois. He was popularly known by the nickname "Kup". His daily "Kup's Column" was launched in 1943 and remained a fixture in the Sun-Times for the next six decades. It has been said that Kup walked across the bridge at least 10,000 times. It should be noted that the Chicago Sun-Times building was located near this bridge, where the Trump Tower is today.
Interestingly in 1930, this bridge received the "Most Beautiful Steel Bridge" award from the American Institute of Steel Construction.
All proceeds will be donated to Chicago's Cornerstone Community Outreach in honor of photographer Richard Cleis, 1965-2021.
